Glossary
The words we use, defined.
EagleEnforce uses one word for each idea, on the website and in the application.
- MAP (Minimum Advertised Price)
- The lowest price at which a brand allows its product to be advertised. Set by the brand in its MAP policy. EagleEnforce compares advertised prices against it.
- MSRP
- The manufacturer's suggested retail price. Kept in the catalog for reference; not used for enforcement.
- MAP policy
- A named, versioned document with a MAP price per product and an effective date. A brand can have more than one.
- Promo window
- A date range during which a lower advertised price is allowed, for one product or the whole catalog, so a sanctioned sale never counts as a violation.
- Dealer
- A business in the brand's authorized channel. Used for the brand's own resellers.
- Seller
- Any business found selling the brand, authorized or not. A seller can own several storefronts.
- Storefront
- One website, or one marketplace account, belonging to a seller.
- Listing (watch point)
- One product page at one dealer that EagleEnforce reads on schedule.
- Preflight
- The checks run before a dealer site is added: DNS, platform, robots.txt, bot protection, geographic and EU status.
- Read
- One scheduled visit to a listing that records the advertised price and the page status.
- Candidate
- A listing seen below MAP once. Not yet a violation; it will be re-checked.
- Confirmed
- A listing seen below MAP for the required number of consecutive reads. Evidence is captured and a case opens.
- Resolved
- A confirmed violation whose listing has been read at or above MAP for the required number of consecutive reads.
- Evidence
- A full-page screenshot and the page HTML as served, with a timestamp and URL, stored with the violation.
- Case
- The enforcement file for one seller. Confirmed violations attach to the open case; the case walks the ladder.
- Ladder
- The sequence of enforcement steps a brand defines. Default: courtesy notice, formal warning, suspension, termination.
- Cure window
- The time a seller has after a notice to bring the price back to MAP before the next step.
- Notice
- The email sent to a seller at a ladder step, from an editable template with merge fields.
- Attention score
- A 0 to 100 score per seller built from listings below MAP now, confirmed violations in 180 days, status and reach. Every part is shown.
- Cadence
- How often listings are read: daily, every six hours, or hourly, by plan.
